Lara is purpose and impact driven, known for her ability to make the complex simple, manage risks and effectively engage with multiple stakeholders from hybrid ecosystems to get things done. She believes in social justice and inclusion, in teaming, in systemic change and in leading by example.
Born in Lebanon from a French father and Armenian mother, Lara did her scholarship at Mission Laïque Française in Beirut. She has two university degrees: Economics from USJ Beirut and an MBA in Management of Information Systems from Paris Dauphine. She is fluent in French, English, Arabic and Armenian,
She has served for 18 years as a Corporate Senior Executive at Unilever in different capacities: Project manager, Head of procurement for packaging supply covering €500 Million spend across 127 factories worldwide and; Corporate program director for Unilever Global Supply Chain transformation impacting 78,000 people, 400 brands, +300 facilities, 180 countries. Impact: increased sales, improved margin, cash release, reduction of CO2 and attraction and retention of the best talents.
In 2012, she sets her own consultancy firm (Lara Moutin Consulting) to operate as an independent international consultant focusing on ESG, Sustainable Development, Transformation, Procurement and Supply Chain. She helps CEOs design and drive systemic transformational projects enabling them get to the full potential of their business by delivering simultaneously Economic, Social & Environmental impact. As a consultant, she has run many major projects: Global PPPs and Implementation of IFC Environmental and Social performance standards in East African countries in Agri-business; Transition programs to renewable sources for energy and commodities; Embed circular economy and sustainable life cycles requirements from products design to end of life; General Management, Human Resources and Talent development roles
In Lebanon, she led the BREEAM certification of Bkerzay in Chouf. The resort was distinguished by the NY Times for its sustainable practices. In parallel to her day consultancy work, five days post-Beirut blast 2020, she set with the help of Emergency Architects, ‘Windows For Beirut’, a French humanitarian NGO. Working hand in hand with the ecosystem of local actors including the local NGOs, Windows For Beirut rehabilitated 691 people’s houses to allow them get back to their homes and lives. She also conducted a massive sustainable development initiative in Bab El Ramel, Tripoli north Lebanon in 2021.
